Tim Anderson for Legislature Campaign Receives Last-Minute $750,000 Donation from International Gaming Companies -One of Largest Individual Contributions in NE History

A new Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure (NADC) report shows that a conglomerate of corporate gaming companies provided the Tim Anderson for Legislature campaign a last-minute contribution totaling $750,000, one of the largest individual campaign donations to a Nebraska legislative candidate in history.
“When LD 38 voters saw that Tim’s campaign started paying for ballot initiative ads, they started asking questions,” said Janell Anderson Ehrke, candidate for LD 38 from Orleans. “Digging deeper, they found that $750,000 was funneled to Tim’s campaign from a conglomerate of international gaming companies less than a week before the election. Regardless of one’s thoughts on the merits of Initiatives 440 and 441, this development raises troublesome questions as to why and what these companies might expect in return from a state senator.”
Tax Relief Nebraska is registered with the NADC as a “ballot question committee.” Tax Relief Nebraska is primarily funded by international online gaming companies, including Draft Kings and FanDuel. Ads for Initiatives 440 and 441, promoted by Tax Relief Nebraska, began appearing late this week with the disclaimer: “Paid for by Tim Anderson for Legislature.”
